Not to be confused with the Team Rocket member dressed up like a Team Rocket member. That's normal.

Indeed Lol! That's funny.
Never thought about it that way before.. even more a shame that Rockets are probably the most competent and threatening villians of pokemon (at least for me. Mafia and mob peeps are a heck of a lot scarier than "i must change the world by first destorying it!" guys.)

@troblsomtwins829: Honestly, all of Pokemon's Teams can be considered cults. Team Rocket is the least cult-like, to the casual external look, but the characters in the games practically worship Giovanni, while Giovanni (if the Youtube Pokemon Generations episodes is anything to go by) seems to worship the organisation that is Team Rocket.

Then we go to Teams Magma & Aqua, who literally worship the Land & Sea, respectively. While Team Galactic is a cult who's go-to claim is the belief that "spirit" is evil, and wants to remove it from the world if possible.

Team Plasma is a team that can literally (and is literally) split into two. The first, N's followers, are those who believe that the mix of humans & pokemon cause suffering, while the followers of Ghetsis & Colress are basically mobsters who want to gain official credence by taking over the country. Basically, N's used to bring people into the team, where Ghetsis bribes them into working for him.

Team Flare, the only team I haven't played any of the games of, is a destruction cult. "Let us destroy the world and repopulate it with those we deem worthy, aka, ourselves and those who obey us".

So, yeah, they're all cults, to one degree or another.

Very silly.

"How silly!" she said, as her Pokemon were stolen.

*If* Team Rocket was actually competent, of course.
