Great news, everyone! Thanks to my loyal minion James and my very handy sister, my Pokemon Silver cartridge has a new save battery! Book 2 is looming on the horizon!

"Notes: sink now reduced in size and undefinable data in the Pokédex. Try adding more toxins."

Also for book 2, will there be a new PC or will this one be the dominant one?

Reply Luigi_96, February 13th, 2014, 7:39 am

But can it catch the Loch Ness Monster?

Reply Surfersquid, February 13th, 2014, 10:37 am

@Alienoid: I'm going to leave that a surprise.

Reply Surfersquid, February 13th, 2014, 10:37 am

@Luigi_96: Only one way to find out.

Reply MecanicalCH, February 13th, 2014, 11:29 am

@Surfersquid: no...Nessy!! T.T

Reply Light-Called-Hope, February 13th, 2014, 11:44 am

Contrary to popular belief, the kitchen sink is quite an effective Pokemon.

Reply Alienoid, February 13th, 2014, 12:16 pm

@Light-Called-Hope: A water/steel type isn't common, after all.

(don't quote me on that)

Reply MecanicalCH, February 13th, 2014, 1:35 pm

@Alienoid: you mean Empoleon?

....wait is he a sink after being summoned from that pokeball!? O.O

Reply Sanji (Guest), February 13th, 2014, 5:52 pm

I think he meant Rotom. XD

Reply Coaster, February 13th, 2014, 6:27 pm

Now you make me want to name a Rotom "kitchen sink"...

Also, huzzah on repairing a Silver cartridge and on continuation and suchwhats.

Reply MecanicalCH, February 14th, 2014, 11:22 am

@Sanji:
@Coaster:

but Rotom is an Electric/ghost type...not a Water/steel type...

Squid, you're a blinking genius.

@Ark the Radiant: Why, thank you! :D

Reply Coaster, February 14th, 2014, 6:55 pm

@MecanicalCH: Wash Rotom is very popular at the moment and is a washing machine, which I say is close enough. >_>

Reply Sanji (Guest), February 14th, 2014, 9:18 pm

An electric/ghost type sink....Remind me never to wash my hands with it.

Reply Saduko Leyra, February 17th, 2014, 2:04 pm

@Surfersquid: How does one do this? I miss being able to save my silver and crystal.

Reply Surfersquid, February 17th, 2014, 3:56 pm

@Saduko Leyra: The hardest part is being able to take off the screw on the back. I've heard of people getting it off with needlenose pliers and such, but your best bet is to buy a fitting screwdriver from someplace like Amazon or eBay, or find someone who has one (like if there are any indie used/vintage game stores in your area and the owner regularly repairs/tinkers with games and consoles). From there, though, it's just a matter of putting in a new battery (you can get them for like US$5 at any place that sells watch batteries and the like), securing it with a piece of tape, and putting the cover back on.

Good luck!

Reply Saduko Leyra, February 19th, 2014, 1:31 am

@Surfersquid: yay! I found out the save was dead in the worst possible way: I had a cindaquil who wasn't just female, but was also shiny. I was so upset! The chances of finding it again are so low, I nearly quit pokemon. But you have given me hope!

Reply Surfersquid, February 19th, 2014, 1:33 am

@Saduko Leyra: Happy to help. :)
