This one is based on a true story, actually. In my first playthrough of Blue, I couldn't figure out how to use the Card Key to open doors. I tried pressing A beside the doors, going to my inventory and trying to use the key from there while standing in front of the door... nothing.

After trying various combinations of things for the better part of an hour, in desperation I handed the Game Boy to my non-game-playing mother.

She had it figured out in ten seconds that all you need to do is press A while standing in front of the door.

@Surfersquid: Actually, the "door" is actually the card-reader, and when it gets a card it opens a portal where the rest of the hide-out is.

Totally.

When in Doubt, Ask a Grunt!

@Frezien: I like how they have no compunctions about helping you through their own base to defeat their boss. They're so friendly like that.

That is one friendly Grunt. 8V

I suppose it might be like those newfangled gadgets at checkouts that let you tap your card against the screen in order to pay. Once again, fiction predates reality by several decades.

@Coaster: That must be it.
